Founded in 1970 with what started as a one-time ski lesson for children from Children's Hospital in Denver, CO the NSCD has grown into one of the largest therapeutic recreational agencies in the world. Whether learning how to ski, climb a mountain, ride a bike or any other athletic skill, the NSCD helps athletes of any age and any disability realize they are capable of amazing things.

One of our youngest Artworks Artists, Amie started with VSAC/Access Gallery in 2009 with no formal art training but an innate gift to draw. When Amie first came to VSA she had never painted anything; she had only drawn with colored pencil. Amie took to painting very quickly and sold her first 2 paintings in the gallery. As a first generation Cambodian with little resources and a tough upbringing, Amie has always been able to lose herself in art.
Using ink, a vintage pen, and colored pencils, Amie tells a story about her love for wolves and how she sees herself, friends and family taking on the spirits of these sacred animals through her art. Since Amie started with Artworks, she has explored lino block and mono prints, painting with water color, acrylic and murals. Amie's goal is to continue to grow as an artist, attend college and move out on her own.
